Laconia players and coaches pose with their sectional championship trophy after defeating Random Lake 9-0 Thursday at Taylor Park.

The Laconia Spartans
Softball team is returning to the State Tournament. Laconia
heads back to Goodman Diamond for the fourth consecutive year after they
blanked Random Lake 9-0 in a WIAA Division 3 Sectional
Championship game Thursday at Taylor Park in Rosendale. The Spartans belted out
11 hits against Random
Lake
in the win, led by
Peyton Kastenschmidt, who went 2 for 4 with 4 RBI – including a three run home
run in the third inning. That home run was part of a six run inning that broke
the game open for the Spartans. Hannah Grahl went 3 for 4 in the win, McKayla

out 13 batters in the win.

Laconia advances to the state semifinals and will face
Bloomer in their first game in Madison.
