Lakeside Park Development Discussion Will Be Focus Of Community Discussion

From some of the public comment the Fond du Lac City Council got before starting a discussion last night about possible development in Lakeside Park you would have thought they had opened Pandora’s Box. Former Advisory Park Board member Mary Wilcox and resident Laurence Lewis wanted to know why the question came up and why now. But City Manager Joe Moore assured the City Council no offers were on the table and none have been made. He said a Council member wanted to start a conversation. The Council unanimously agreed that a conversation should take place involving the whole community. They also voted unanimously to form a 15 member exploratory committee made up of community members to discuss the issue. Moore says applications will be posted on the City’s website. Applications will be taken through Monday, June 23rd. The Council will appoint the committee at their July 9th meeting.
