Late Flu Season

Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says fewer people have tested positive for the flu this season. She says people are under the impression that the flu season started later and that would be accurate. She the first flu case for the 2014-15 flu season was recorded on November 22nd of 2014 while the first this season was until January of this year. She says it’s not too late to get vaccinated for the flu, which she says will probably run through next month. She’s also excited about the vaccine this year. She says it’s a very good match for the flu and preventing it. Mueller says so far this year the number of people testing positive for the flu are eight times fewer than they were a year ago. She says there have been 95 cases reported this year to 764 last year.
