Latest “Drive Sober” Results Released By FDL County Sheriff’s Office

As part of state and national efforts to help keep roadways safe for all travelers, Fond du Lac County deputies made 15 arrests of suspected impaired drivers during the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign between December 17 and New Year’s Day.

While the focus of the initiative was to deter impaired driving, officers also issued citations and made arrests during traffic stops for the following:

61 speeding violations

48 operating after revocation or suspension violations

9 traffic sign or traffic light violations

  • 11 Felony arrests, including:
    • Possession with intent to deliver other schedule I controlled substances
    • 2 counts – Possession w/ intent to Deliver THC
    • 3 counts – Felony Bail Jumping
    • 3 counts – Possession of Cocaine
    • 2 counts – Possession of Methamphetamine

“Drunken driving is entirely preventable. We firmly believe that our intensified enforcement during the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over crackdown and throughout the upcoming year will help deter people from driving if they’re impaired,” said Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt.  “Through our traffic safety enforcement and education efforts, we are striving to reduce the number of preventable traffic deaths to zero in Wisconsin.”
