Ledgers Boys Edge WLA in OT

The St. Mary’s Springs boys
basketball team escaped with a 67-62 overtime win at Winnebago Lutheran on Thursday
night.  The Ledgers led 45-36 heading
into the 4th quarter but saw WLA roar back to win the quarter 19-10 and
force overtime.  In the extra frame
Collin Ottery scored the first five points for SMSA to pull ahead and Cory Nies
went 4×4 from the free throw line to hold off the Vikings.  Nies finished with 19, Zach Hintze scored 10
of his 16 in the 1st quarter. Collin Ottery finished with 11.  WLA senior Will Aird scored 12 of his game
high 19 in the 4th quarter. 
Mitch McFarlane added 15 and Tim Edwards 10 for the Vikings.  WLA (10-9, 5-7) will travel to Mayville on
Saturday.  St. Mary’s Springs (15-5,
10-2) will travel to Laconia
on Monday night with 2nd place in the Flyway Conference on the line.
