Legislators Letter Urges Judge To Reconsider Hwy 23 Expansion Project

State Senator Rick Gudex of Fond du Lac and state legislators that are impacted by the Highway 23 corridor have sent another letter to Federal Judge Lynn Adelman demanding that a determination is made allowing the Highway 23 expansion project to continue. Gudex says the death of 55-year-old Yer Lee of Madison in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 23 in Fond du Lac County this week is a painful reminder of how much the expansion of the highway between Fond du Lac and Plymouth is needed. A decision by Judge Adelman in a lawsuit brought by the 1000 Friends of Wisconsin has delayed the project. Gudex says the judge can expect more letters every time there is a serious or fatal accident on the highway. He says the expansion project is long overdue. Other state legislators who signed the letter include State Representatives Jeremy Thiesfeldt, Tyler Vorpagel, Jesse Kramer, Terry Katsma, and Senators Devin LeMahieu and Duey Stroebel.
