Leibham Won’t Ask For Recount

State Senator Joe Leibham released the following statement today…

Sheboygan, Wis. — A statement from State Senator Joe Leibham regarding the 6th District Congressional election: “After a review of the official election results and prayerful consideration with my family, I have decided not to seek a recount in the 6th Congressional District election. I have contacted Senator Glenn Grothman, informed him of my decision and wished him well. I also want to publicly recognize Representative Duey Stroebel and Mr. Tom Denow for their willingness to be candidates for this important office. I am humbled to have been a candidate for the 6th District and I am proud of the positive campaign we conducted. I value the confidence expressed in me by so many voters and truly appreciate the tremendous support offered by so many dedicated volunteers and friends over the past four months. My team and my family worked extremely hard and for all their efforts and sacrifices, I offer a sincere thank you. I entered this race because of my serious concern about the direction in which our country is heading and my frustration with our federal government’s inability to address or resolve any of the major issues and challenges that are confronting our country at this time. America is an unbelievable nation and we deserve better. I am hopeful that we will see some positive changes real soon. It is a great honor to serve our area in our representational form of government. While my specific duties and responsibilities will change over the next couple of months, I pledge to remain an active and involved citizen, always striving to make our community, state and nation a better place to live, work and enjoy life.” ###
