Linda Uselmann Runs For FDL School Board

One of the candidates for the Fond du Lac School Board is hoping to bring a fresh perspective to it. Linda Uselmann ran last spring and is hoping this time to gain a spot on the board in the April 7th election. She says she’s concerned about a report she heard that there has been a 25 percent turnover in staff and about 200 students have left the district in the past year. She says teachers should be listened to because they are the ones who have day-to-day contact with students. She says people feel shut out and distanced from the school board and she would try to bridge that gap. She says the board needs to revisit its policy about hearing from the public at school board meetings. Uselmann says the board should also use social media to gain public attitudes on educational issues.
