Local Angler Wins Professional Walleye Series Tourney, Picks Up $50,000 Check

After four fantastic days of fishing, local angler and business owner, Josh Wiesner, picked up the Championship Trophy of the Professional Walleye Series event held on Lake Chautauqua.

Wiesner is the owner of the Boat Doc located south of Fond du Lac, and had finished in 5th place for the Angler of the Year award. But his semifinal came over Isaac Lakich, who had taken the AOY award. The semifinal match was touted as a “heavyweight” match against two great anglers, but Wiesner finished the morning with 6 walleyes totaling 28 pounds, 10 ounces and moved him into the championship.

In the Championship, Wiesner reeled in 5 fish while his competitor, Joe Okada, only managed 1.

KFIZ reached out to the Champion, who told us he’d love to do an interview, once he finishes enjoying the victory!
