Local Authorities Release Name Of Accident Victim

An early morning accident Saturday took the life of a 30-year old Fond du Lac man. Now, authorities have released the identity of the victim. The Fond du Lac Police Department said Eric R. Ferdinand was involved in the single vehicle fatal crash on Amory Street near E. Arndt Street. Ferdinand was pronounced dead at the scene by the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s Office. 

Officers were called to the scene shortly after 12:12 a.m. Saturday morning. The single vehicle accident took place on Amory St. just to the north of E. Arndt St. The early investigation indicated that the 2013 Hyundai Elantra Ferdinand was operating, was traveling southbound on Amory St. when it left the road, struck a tree, and then the Cross Roads Care Center Building located on E. Arndt St. 

The FDL Police Department and City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue personnel responded to to the scene. The cause of the accident remains under active investigation.
