Local Law Enforcement Set To Receive National Award Thursday

Members of the Fond du Lac Police Department and the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department will be receiving some national exposure, and hardware, on Thursday. Chief William Lamb and Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt have announced that three members of their respective Departments have been selected by United States Attorney General William P. Barr to be honored with the ‘Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service in Policing.’

Fond du Lac Police Department Officers Denny Vokes and Vance Henning Jr., and Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Detective Ryan Flood, are among only 23 law enforcement officers and deputies nationwide that were selected to be honored by Attorney General Barr, for exceptional efforts in policing. The nomination was submitted in response to their collective efforts to stem an increase in shootings, drug trafficking, illegal guns, and related gang activity in the greater Fond du Lac area. The presentation of the awards and a private awards ceremony will be live streamed so that any member of the public and media will be able to view it. That private ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 1:30PM.
