Local Leaders Have Plans Ready In Event Of Surge

Fond du Lac County Health Officials and local health care leaders continue to plan for a possible surge in cases of COVID-19 that would put a much larger demand on the health care system.

County Executive Allen Buechel says staff is working to determine possible isolation sites that would help both the public and health care workers if a surge in cases happens.

“One those facilities is an alternate facility for people stay at if they need to be isolated. Also, we’re looking for facilities to house health care workers, because they don’t want to go home and expose their families, so they need a place to stay.”

Buechel says in the event they are needed, there likely will be facilities for those purposes in Fond du Lac County – with a possible regional isolation facility in the works in Winnebago County.
