Potential
Good Samaritan Turns Into Scrooge

Fond du Lac
Police Officer Steve Olson says an elderly Fond du Lac woman trying to be a
Good Samaritan turned into a witness when a man recently lost his wallet. She
says the woman saw a man riding his bicycle and he lost his wallet when the
rode over a curb. The woman saw the incident and went down to retrieve the
wallet for the man, but another man picked it up and walked down the street.
She called police and Officer Olson was the responding officer. He says he
encountered the man on the street and ended up citing him for theft, but was
able to get the wallter back to its owner. He says the thief didn’t have a good
story for having the wallet and had already emptied its contents into his
pockets.
