Local News Briefs Monday 12/29/14

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Dodge County’s Town of Herman last night. The crash at the intersection of State Highway 33 and County Highway AY happened shortly after 7 p.m. The two drivers in the vehicles were the sole occupants of their vehicles. Twenty-five-year-old Christopher Lackas of Brownsville was taken to Beaver Dam Community Hospital. Flight for Life flew 65-year-old Jean Schultz of Wauwatosa to Summit Hospital. The conditions of the two were not released.  

Section Of County V Closed

The Fond du Lac County Highway Department tells us that County Highway V or Rienzi Road will be closed between National Avenue and Brookfield Boulevard today and tomorrow. A broken sewer pipe is being fixed and the road should reopen at the end of the day Tuesday. No detour will be posted.

Unemployment Rates Hold Steady

Unemployment rates for the City and County of Fond du Lac held steady in November. According to state and federal labor statistics the jobless rate for the City of Fond du Lac remained at 5 percent and the County’s rate at 4.3 percent last month. That was an improvement over November of 2013 went the City’s rate was 6.6 percent and the County’s 5.3 percent.
