Gift Return
Policies Vary

It’s the
day shoppers dread, time to take back gifts that don’t work or may be
inappropriate. Frank Frassetto is the Division Administrator for the State’s
Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. He says if you kept
your receipts or gave out gifts with gift receipts you should be covered. He
says you should always have a paper trail in case you have to return or
exchange a gift. He says policies vary from store to store and if you made
purchases online. He also says if you bought a clearance item those policies
may also be different. He cautions to always read the fine print.
