Local Teacher Running For State Superintendent

There are now six candidates running for State Superintendent, with Joe Fenrick, a science teacher at Fond du Lac High School, announcing on his website, www.fenrickforeducation.com, he will run for the open seat. The 38-year old Fenrick said he is looking to reduce the number of standardized tests students take, allowing for more time for teaching. He also wants to see more hands-on class availability in classes like Agriculture, Tech Ed and Robotics. Fenrick also says he has a goal of being more transparent when it comes to the state school budget. Fenrick has been teaching at Fondy High since 2006, and is also a Fond du Lac County Board Supervisor.
