Lomira Man Pleads To Reduced Charges In Heroin Overdose Death

A 50-year-old Lomira man originally charged with 1st degree reckless homicide in the heroin overdose death of a Fond du Lac man has pled guilty to amended charges. Jeffrey Abitz was in Fond du Lac County Court yesterday where he pled guilty to heroin trafficking and narcotics possession charges. A sentencing hearing hasn’t been scheduled yet. Abitz and 58-year-old Reginald Dorsey of Milwaukee allegedly supplied 28-year-old Adam Ellman of Fond du Lac with the heroin that led to his overdose death in July of 2012. Dorsey was also facing a 1st degree reckless homicide charge, but it was dismissed in September after he died of cancer.
