Looking Ahead to EAA AirVenture

It’s July – and that means the team at EAA in Oshkosh is locked in on once again hosting the largest air show in the world. Airventure hosts hundreds of thousands of airplane enthusiasts from around the globe every year.

EAA spokesman Dick Knapinski tells us every kind of aircraft you can think of will be on the grounds this year. He says “it all starts on Monday, July 23rd and runs for seven days and runs through the 29th – so Monday through Sunday.  And it is the world’s greatest aviation celebration. I like to call it aviation’s family reunion because everything comes here. The smallest ultralight to – this year – the C5 – the Air Force’s biggest cargo airplane will be here.”

Famous faces like Marvel superhero creator
Stan Lee often make appearances, and Knapinski says many of them tend to blend in with the crowd. During Lee’s presentation last year, Knapinski says
“standing in the crowd, wearing a hat and sunglasses with his four kids and in-laws and nobody knew he was standing there was Jeff Bezos, the richest man on the planet. And people standing around him had no idea that was him standing next to them. He was there to support his Blue Origin rocket, which was on display last year.”

Airventure also features a number of afternoon and night airshows – along with seminars and other experiences for people of all interest levels. A concert is also set for Monday night, featuring country artists Maddy and Tae – and Dustin Lynch.
