Louden Sworn In As Waupun Police Chief

City officials in Waupun were hoping to have a new police chief in place by the end of the month and made it official Tuesday night swearing in former Deputy Chief Scott Louden as the new Chief of Police. Louden says he is honored to be chosen to succeed Dale Heeringa who was with the department for 41 years the last 13 as chief. Louden says he is proud of their agency, the community and proud to have worked for the department for the past 17 ½ years. He says he is excited for the new opportunity and to be leading the organization. Louden also credits Heeringa for mentoring him. He says Heeringa mentored him for the last several years for the chief’s position. He says he learned so much from Heeringa and other community leaders.  He says he will take time to look at the structure of the department, but is leaning towards keeping the organization the same backfilling positions including the Deputy Chief’s position.
