LPEC Reviews Park Recommendations For The FDL City Council

The Lakeside Park Exploratory Committee’s
recommendations were reviewed for the Fond du Lac City Council Wednesday night.
Committee Chairman Dr. John Short did most of the review recapping their top 10
recommendations and briefly highlighting the other 17. Short told the Council
they included possibilities like building a boardwalk over the rocks of the
shoreline. He says they didn’t exclude ideas because there might be opposition
to them.
City Manager Joe Moore told the Council a master
plan for Lakeside Park will be included in the Capital Improvement requests for
the Public Works Department in 2016.
Moore says
they won’t be starting with any of the bigger recommendations from the committee
in 2016. He says they will be doing things that were scheduled as normal
improvements like the bathrooms at the park and continuing the Fond du Lac
bicycle loop in the park.
The City hopes to
incorporate some of the committee’s suggestions in its Captial Improvements over
the next five years.
