Man Behind Waukesha Tragedy Tried Running Over Mother Of His Child

Darrell Brooks, the man accused in the Waukesha Christmas parade tragedy, was out on bail for a serious offense.

According to online court records, Brooks was charged with second-degree reckless endangering safety, obstructing an officer, felony bail jumping and domestic violence related disorderly conduct and battery just three weeks earlier.

Police said he ran the mother of his child over with his vehicle November 2nd. Brooks was released last Tuesday on a one-thousand dollar bond. Milwaukee County prosecutors requested the bond, but now say the amount may have been “inappropriately low” considering Brooks’ criminal record.

Brooks’ initial court appearance was scheduled for Tuesday. He faces five homicide charges.
