Man Dies During Kayaking Accident In The Horicon Marsh

Horicon Police say the 62-year-old man who died in a kayaking accident on the Horicon Marsh Tuesday was from Jackson. Philip Clark and his wife and grandson rented two of the boats for a sight seeing trip on the marsh. They were on their way back when his wife saw Clark in the water. She managed to get him back to shore at the end of Vine Street. A John Deere employee administered CPR until first responders got there. Clark was taken to Beaver Dam Community Hospital where he died. The cause of death is being determined.

Horicon Police say a man may have drowned during a kayaking accident in the Horicon Marsh Tuesday. When police, EMS and Dodge County Sheriff’s officials arrived at the end of Vine Street along the shoreline CPR was already in progress on the victim. The man was transferred to an ambulance and was taken to Beaver Dam Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name hasn’t been released. The cause of death is pending, however foul play is not suspected.
