Man Kills Self In Fond du Lac Police Department After Hours Lobby

On Friday, September 30, 2022 at approximately 5:37 p.m., The Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a call originating from the Fond du Lac Police Department’s After Hours lobby on North Main Street near Johnson Street.

A 31-year-old Norfolk, Virginia man indicated to the 911 dispatcher that he wanted to commit suicide.

While on the phone with the Communications Center the male shot himself.

Within moments City of Fond du Lac Police officers located the man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Officers immediately began life-saving measures until transferred to the care of the City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue.

The victim was transported by Fire/Rescue to SSM Health/St. Agnes Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Police are not releasing the identity of the man at this time, pending family notification.

Police say the investigation into this incident is at the preliminary stages and remains under active investigation and no further details or information are being released at this time.

The City of Fond du Lac Police Department was assisted by the City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue Department and The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office took care of calls in the city while City of Fond du Lac Police were tied up at the scene.
