Man Rescued On Lake Winnebago

A 46-year-old man out ice fishing on Lake Winnebago Friday night lost his way and wasn’t able to find the shore. The man called the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office around 8 p.m. Friday night, and due to conditions on the ice, wasn’t able to navigate back to shore, and unable to tell where he was exactly. About two hours later, search crews located the man west of Brothertown Harbor, almost a mile off of shore.

At around 9:52 p.m., over an hour after the intial call, search crews on Lake Winnebago were able to locate the 46-year-old man and other than being disoriented appeared to be OK.

Numerous crews assisted at the scene including the Town of Calumet Fire Department, Calumet County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Calumet First Responders, Calumet County Dive Team, Brillion Police Department, Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department, and Gold Cross Ambulance.
