Man Rescued On Pike Lake

Authorities continue to warn all residents to stay off the ice, following another ice rescue Wednesday afternoon. A 65-year old man spent over 40 minutes in the water after falling through the ice on Pike Lake in Hartford. The calls came in just after 1:00 p.m. from people hiking on a trail in the area, who heard calls from help, and called 9-1-1. The man broke through the ice about 400 yards from shore, and was rescued by the Washington County Dive Team. The man was taken to the hospital where he was treated for hypothermia. A Hartford Firefighter also sustained a serious shoulder injury during the rescue and was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.
