Man Who Fled With Baby Headed To Mental Health Facility

He was accused of fleeing with his 5-month old baby back in March of 2021. Now he will be headed to a mental health facility.

Louis Stone was facing charges that included first-degree reckless endangering safety and fleeing police, and had plead guilty to the four charges. Stone was found guilty of the charges, but then declared not guilty by reason of mental disease.

The courts decided that Stone couldn’t differentiate between right and wrong at the time, and is not to be held criminally liable.

The 34-year old Stone was accused of fleeing after Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to pull him over for speeding. A passenger in the vehicle, Paulina Meshiguad, is set to appear back in court April 12 for the start of her jury trial.

Meshigaud, 30, of Green Bay, is charged with first-degree recklessly endangering safety – party to a crime and vehicle operator flee/elude officer causing damage to property – party to a crime.
