Man With Gun Holds Police In Stand-Off In Beaver Dam

An armed man kept law enforcement in a stand-off in a local hotel Monday afternoon while negotiators pleaded with the man to surrender.

Around 11:30 AM, the Beaver Dam Police Department was called to the Holiday Inn on Seippel Blvd, for a report of a gun found by staff in a room.

The party who had booked the room called the hotel and said he wouldn’t be able to return, so staff went to retrieve the mans belongings, and that was when they found the weapon.

When staff brought police to the room, a man was in the room and reached for the gun and began making threats.

The officer retreated and called for back-up.

The Beaver Dam Emergency Response team, Dodge County Sheriff’s Department SWAT as well as the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team were on scene for almost five hours before the man surrendered peacefully at 4:47 PM and placed in custody.
