Manitowoc County Farmer Michael Slattery Running For Sixth Congressional District Seat

Manitowoc County farmer Michael Slattery is hoping his varied background will be what Congress needs. The Democratic candidate for the 6th Congressional District seat has 18 years of international and domestic finance experience starting out as a U.S. loan officer for Japan’s largest bank. He also spent 13 years in the Jesuit religious order. But he also knows about problems farmers face including climate change. He says there is a tremendous distrust of the government. He says there is paralysis and inaction. He says they can’t pass a budget in Congress. There are major problems with infrastructure and climate change and nothing is really being dealt with. Slattery faces Sarah Lloyd in the Democratic primary on August 9th. The winner will face Republican incumbent Congressman Glenn Grothman in November.
