Marian Hires 1st Track Coach

The Marian University Athletic Department has announced Ryan Schroeder as the
head coach of its newly founded track and field program, in addition to leading
the cross country program.

comes to Fond du Lac after spending two years at fellow Northern Athletics
Collegiate Conference school, Aurora University, where he served as the graduate
assistant coach for track and field and cross country.

brand new track and field program, while taking over our cross country teams,

native of Byron, Ill., Schroeder competed at Division III Coe College in Cedar
Rapids, Iowa, where he was one of the most decorated runners in Coe’s history.
He currently holds three school records and was a two-time All-Central Region
honoree. At the 2010 NCAA Division III National Cross Country Championships,
Schroeder finished 52nd overall with a time of 25:10.6.

holds his USATF Level I Coaching Education Certificate and will not only head a
new track and field program Marian, but will look to resurrect the cross country
program, which last saw an All-Conference runner in 2011.

and his wife, Keelie, currently reside in Fond du Lac.
