Marian To Hold In-Person Commencement Saturday

Nearly 200 students will take part in Marian University’s spring commencement this Saturday. The event is schedule for 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, and will take place rain or shine on Herr-Baker Field Baseball Stadium on the Marian University campus. 

Graduates will be physically distanced for the entirety of the ceremony, and in-person spectators have been limited to two per graduate. A total of 165 undergraduate, 20 master’s and five doctoral candidates will be part of the ceremony. The student commencement speaker will be Brenda Ordonez, a Communications and Digital Media Studies major from Woodstock, Ill., while brother and sister graduates Austin and Emily Hill will sing The National Anthem.  The ceremony will be streamed live at www.MarianUniversity.edu. 

Board Chair David Klumpyan, President Michelle Majewski, and General Superior of the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes Sr. Jean Steffes will also make remarks, as will Faculty Senate President Leslie Jaber-Wilson.
