Marian University, UW-Oshkosh Extend Spring Break, Move to Online Classes

Marian University in Fond du Lac and UW-Oshkosh have
followed the lead of most, if not all colleges in the region and opted to
extend Spring Break for students and move to online delivery of classes once
students return – out of concern of the spread of the Coronavirus.

Marian posted on the school’s Facebook page Thursday that spring
break would be extended for students through Friday, March 20th– and
that “on-ground”, or in-person classes would be suspended starting Monday,
March 23rd. Online classes will be held through Friday, March 27th.
Marian students, faculty and staff are asked to check their emails regularly
for updates on the situation.

At UW-Oshkosh, Chancellor Andrew Leavitt announced Thursday
that all campus-based classes at the university’s three campuses in Fond du
Lac, Oshkosh and Fox Cities will be canceled for the week of March 16th.
Classes for UW-Oshkosh will resume through “alternative delivery methods” on
Monday, March 30th. All online classes currently in-session are not
impacted by the decision.

Students who live on-campus at UW-Oshkosh are asked to
leave their residence halls after classes end Friday (March 13th).
Dorms will remain open for international students and those who cannot return
to their permanent home.

UW-Oshkosh also announced that all university-sponsored
domestic and international travel has been suspended, “effective immediately.”
All university-sponsored events, and those held on their campuses are canceled
immediately until further notice.
