Marijuana Referendum Moving Forward

A marijuana referendum is one step closer to being placed on the spring election ballot here in Fond du Lac County. A resolution to place the advisory referendum on the April ballot was passed – three to two – by the Fond du Lac County Public Safety committee this week.

The referendum resolution now must pass through the county board of health on October 2nd, and a full county board vote on October 17th.

Again, the advisory referendum only gives people a chance to voice their opinion. It would ask whether residents favor legalizing marijuana, legalizing it for medical purposes, or keeping marijuana on the list of illegal drugs.
