Marketing Sturgeon Spectacular

The president of the Fond du Lac Area Convention and Visitors Bureau would like to see more sponsorship of the Sturgeon Spectacular next February. The bureau has footed most of the bill for marketing the festival in its first two years. Craig Molitor says Fond du Lac deserves a good winter festival. He urges those who agree to help them sponsor the festival. Molitor says the bureau’s job is marketing tourism and they know how to do it well, which would also benefit any paid sponsors of the Sturgeon Spectacular. He notes it might not be as big as Walleye Weekend, but they are doing cutting edge marketing for it from the Appleton area down to Rockford, Illinois and over to the Chicago suburbs. One thing he suggests to possible sponsors is it might be a good way to recruit employees if a business is looking for help.
