Mass Power Outage Training

The Wisconsin National Guard is helping communities prepare for possible long-term mass power outages. The exercise known as “Dark Sky” will be held May 15th thru the 17th in Brown, Calumet, Dane, Fond du Lac, Milwaukee, Outagamie, and Winnebago Counties. Utility companies, law enforcement, and first responders will take part in the simulation. A military presence and increased emergency personnel are likely during the exercise. 110 National Guard soldiers will be going door-to-door in Omro on May 16th as part of the effort. The National Guard says the training is to prepare for a possible attack on the state’s infrastructure.
