Medical Marijuana Bill To Be Heard Wednesday

There’s a medical marijuana bill up for a hearing at the state Capitol on 4-20, but Democrats say it falls short. State Senator Melissa Agard of Madison would go farther than just allowing for pills and oils with THC.

“it has social equity issues as well, then that people who have been harmed by cannabis prohibition would be able to have a path for expungement.”

Agard’s bill also would have allowed Wisconsinites to grow their own medical cannabis, and would have prevented companies from outside the state from setting up shop for 5 years in order to help Wisconsin hemp growers.

Since the Legislature has already adjourned for the year, the hearing before a Senate committee will not result in any action.
