Memorial Day Parades, Ceremonies Around FDL Area Today

Today is Memorial Day, and communities around the area will
be remembering and honoring those who died while serving in the United States
Armed Forces. The City of Fond du Lac’s annual Memorial Day parade begins at 10
am at Main Street and Guindon Boulevard and will conclude at Veterans Park. A
ceremony will be held in the park immediately following the parade. The City of
Waupun will also hold a Memorial Day parade, which starts this morning at 9,
with a ceremony to follow at 10 at the War Veterans Memorial at Shaler Park.

Village of Rosendale – 10 AM at the Rosendale Intermediate
School


City of Ripon – Parade begins at 9 am


Village of Brandon – Parade begins at 9 am with a ceremony
to follow


Village of Oakfield – Parade begins at 8 am


Town of Byron – Annual Memorial Day tribute at the Byron
Town Hall & Veterans Memorial from 8 until 11 am. Outdoor program begins at
9:30 AM. 44 names will be added to the veterans memorial, and a roll call of
veterans buried in Town of Byron cemeteries will be read. A keynote address
will be delivered by Phil and LuAnn Bird and a new exhibit called “Duty, Honor,
Country” from the Byron Historical Society will be on display


Other communities, including St. Cloud, Mount Calvary and
Theresa will be conducting ceremonies at cemeteries around their area.
