Mercury Marine Moves Up Summer Shutdown A Few Months Early

Things are about to get very quiet at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. A number of facilities will suspend production beginning Monday, March 23. The shutdowns are planned to last anywhere from 2-3 weeks. 


Lee Gordon, Director of Marine Public Relations there will be some plants, mainly distribution, that will continue to run during the next couple of weeks, so business will not be as interrupted in those facilities at the plant.


An employee from Mercury Marine was one of the travelers that was exposed to the coronavirus while traveling overseas. That employee never recovered from the virus and died. Mercury Marine has been taking a number of precautions in light of Covid-19, which also included some employees being allowed to work from home.
