Microtel Clerk Did Not See Robbery Suspect

There’s a reason Fond du Lac Police did not release a description of a suspect or suspects in the Microtel Inn & Suites robbery this past Sunday night. Assistant Police Chief Steve Klein says that’s because the hotel clerk was hit from behind and didn’t see his attacker or attackers. He says the clerk was pushed from behind and doesn’t know if there was one or more suspects. The clerk wasn’t seriously injured. Klein would not say whether there might have been surveillance video, saying they can’t go into details about evidence that is gathered at the scene. He says it will be a challenging case. He says investigators will go over information and evidence collected at the scene and talk to guests at the hotel. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the hotel. It’s the second time in less than two months the hotel has been robbed. The first robbery occurred in late August and a suspect was arrested a few days later. Anyone with information is asked to call the tipline at 920-906-4777 or the Crime Alert number at 322-3740.
