Mike Shannon 2015 TIME Dealer Of The Year Finalist
Mike Shannon, president of Holiday Automotive, a Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, GMC and Mazda dealer in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, was named one of four regional finalists for the 2015 TIME Dealer of the Year award.
Shannon is one of a select group of dealers from across the country recognized at the 98th annual National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Convention & Exposition in San Francisco last Friday. The announcement of this year’s national TIME Dealer of the Year and finalists was made by Mark Ellis, senior vice president corporate sales, Time Inc., and Tim Russi, president of Auto Finance for Ally Financial, at the formal opening of the convention, which was expected to draw more than 20,000 individuals involved in the automobile industry.
“The dealers nominated for this award are incredible business owners, but also incredible advocates for giving back to their local communities,” Russi said. “Ally is continually inspired by their stories of giving and their love for this business, and we are proud to honor 2015 winner Andy Crews, along with this year’s finalists, for this well-deserved award.”
In its fourth year as exclusive sponsor, Ally has donated $1,000 to the charity of choice for each of the 55 dealer nominees and will provide $10,000 to the nonprofit selected by the 2015 TIME Dealer of the Year winner. In addition, the three finalists, as well as the state Automotive Trade Association Executive (ATAE) who nominated the 2015 winner, will each receive a $5,000 grant for the nonprofit organizations of their choice. All nominees are featured on AllyDealerHeroes.com, which highlights the philanthropic contributions and achievements of auto dealers across the United States.
The TIME Dealer of the Year award is one of the automobile industry’s most prestigious and highly coveted honors. Recipients are among the nation’s most successful auto dealers who also demonstrate a long-standing commitment to community service.
Shannon, 62, was chosen to represent the Wisconsin Automobile & Truck Dealers Association in the national competition – one of only 55 auto dealers from 17,000 nationwide – nominated for the 46th annual award. The award is sponsored by TIME in association with Ally Financial, and in cooperation with NADA.
