Million Dollar Meth Ring Member In Fond du Lac Pleads Not Guilty

One of the first alleged ringleaders of a drug distribution operation busted in Fond du Lac County in early December of 2022 has pleaded not guilty Monday, January 23, 2023.

Melvin Kemp faces two charges, manufacture and delivery of amphetamine and narcotics.

No date for a trial has been set yet but he returns to court March 29 for a status conference.

On December 1st County and City officials announce that a million dollar drug ring had been broken up in Fond du Lac County.

The investigation discovered the delivery and distribution of more than 100 pounds of meth with a street value of $1 million in 2022 in Fond du Lac County, as well as the early stages of a fentanyl distribution operation.

Authorities seized 3.25 pounds of meth and 280 grams of fentanyl.

District Attorney Eric Toney said that amount of fentanyl would be enough to kill over 100,000 people, more than the population of Fond du Lac County.
