Milwaukee County DA Admits Mistake Was Made

The Milwaukee County District attorney says his office made a mistake in allowing the man accused in the Waukesha Parade attack back out on bail. DA John Chisholm says the Assistant district attorney in charge of Darrell Brooks Junior’s domestic violence case requested a bail that was too low given his past history.

“You had a young ADA trying to do the very best she could under really difficult circumstances and she made a mistake.”

Chisholm says that the ADA was in the middle of a jury trial in a different case, and that a bail recommendation that should have been in Brooks’ file wasn’t there.
