Milwaukee Man Sentenced To 16 Years In Prison For Shooting At Kids Throwing Snowballs

A Milwaukee Man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after a 2020 incident where he shot at kids that had been throwing snowballs at passing cars.

William Carson was sentenced on Friday after a jury convicted him in November.

Prosecutors said Carson saw seven kids throwing snowballs at passing cars along the 6100 block of West Birch Avenue on Milwaukee’s north side.

Carson exited his vehicle and fired nine shots at the children as they ran away.

Prosecutors have said two of the children were hurt after being shot in the thigh and arm. A third child’s jacket was grazed by a bullet.

Carson was arrested after crashing his car during a police chase shortly after the shooting event.

Police found a gun that matched the description of the one used in the shooting.

Prosecutors asked for 25 years in prison.

The victims wrote a note, saying they have emotional and physical scars that still haunt them, some citing moving out of the state after the shooting.
