Mini Red Kettles Get Big Donations

The Salvation Army “mini” red kettles sit atop 87 counters throughout the County, cheerfully collecting change to help families in need in 2016.  John Pellitier, Salvation Advisory Counter Kettle Coordinator (pictured with a kettle) has coordinated the mini kettles for seven years and knows that big things come from the little kettles.  The little kettle on Subway on West Johnson St. held a $100 bill this week, for the fourth year in a row.  True Value Hardware, 40 1st St., has a generous good deed doer that makes an annual surprise appearance alongside the little kettle, prompts donations from customers and then matches the collection.  Pellitier is seventh year of coordinating  the appearances of 87 mini counter kettles across Fond du Lac County. Donations of every size will create change in 2016, the Salvation Army board member shares, adding, “Each red kettle magnifies the heart of those around it.”
