Minnesota Man Arrested After Wisconsin Stabbing Rampage

A 52-year-old Prior Lake, Minnesota man is in custody after going on a stabbing spree in St. Croix County in northwest Wisconsin Saturday afternoon, killing a 17-year-old boy and injuring four others.

The incident happened while everyone involved was “tubing” down the Apple River near Somerset Wisconsin.

The 17-year-old as well as two of the injured are from Minnesota while the other two injured are form northwest Wisconsin.

St. Croix County Sheriff Scott Knudson said calls to 911 started at 3:45 PM Saturday afternoon.

When officers arrived, witnesses to the attack helped lead responding deputies to the suspect, who fled upstream from the scene. He was captured about an hour and a half after the incident happened.

Police did not state if the suspect knew the victims or a possible motive.

The incident continues to be an active investigation.
