Miss FDL Scholarship Pageant Winners

Katrina Mazier, 17, of Appleton bested four other women to
win the 2016 Miss Fond du Lac pageant Saturday night at
the Goodrich Little Theatre in Fond du Lac.

Mazier, a senior at Xavier High School in Appleton, was
appointed as Miss Appleton’s Outstanding Teen 2015 and
competed in the state teen pageant last June but did not place.

During the pageant’s talent competition, Mazier performed a
lyrical jazz dance to “Fight Song”. She was crowned by outgoing
Miss Fond du lac 2014, McCayla Jean Thoe, 21, of Hayfield,
Minn. who is a Ripon College student. Mazier wins upwards
of $16,000 in scholarships from various nearby colleges.

First runner-up was Erin Elizabeth Canon, 21, of Wauwatosa,
a junior psychology and business major at Ripon College. She
was also voted as Miss Congeniality by the other pageant delegates.

Also winning a crown Saturday was Tara Jo Pizer, 23, of rural
Richland Center, who was named Miss Wisconsin Central 2016.
The 2014 UW-Madison nursing graduate performed a tap dance
to “Uptown Funk” and was crowned by Miss Wisconsin Central
2015, Jessica Jeanne Krueger, 19, of Appleton.

Seven women competed in the 18th annual state “at-large”
Miss Wisconsin Central pageant including first runner-up
and Ripon College student Malainey Jane Myrin, 21, of Elkhorn,
who was Miss Fond du Lac in 2014.

Mazier and Pizer will now join 20 other women from around the
state in the 2016 Miss Wisconsin pageant. This will be Pizer’s
fourth attempt at the state crown after previously serving as
Miss Southern Lakes, Miss Belle City (Racine), and last year
as Miss Coulee Region.

Selected as Miss Fond du Lac’s Outstanding Teen 2016 was
Kylene Elizabeth Spanbauer, 16, of Fond du Lac. During the
talent competition Saturday evening, she performed a dance
and twirl routine to “Explosive”.

Spanbauer was crowned by Miss Fond du Lac’s Outstanding
Teen 2015, Millicent “Milli” Selenka, 17, of Fond du Lac, who
was later appointed the Miss Wisconsin Central’s Outstanding
Teen 2016 title. Additionally, Delany Hayward, a lyrical dancer
and Neenah High School sophomore, was appointed the newly
created Miss Foot of the Lake’s Outstanding Teen title last
Saturday night.
