Mission Of Mercy A Success

Hundreds stood in line and waited through rain to get free dental care during the Mission of Mercy at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds last weekend. Samantha Twohig is the Oral Health Program Coordinator for the County’s Health Department. She says over 1,300 people got more than $1 million worth of free dental care during the event Friday and Saturday. She says lots of dental providers stepped in and it was a great success. She says over 2,000 volunteers gave their time. She says it was efficient and well run. She says the patients coming out were happy and grateful. Twohig says there were a lot of success stories like the mother who brought her kids and waited for hours to make sure all of her kids were seen because they had never had dental care before. She says she was emotional the home time and told Twohig she would, “never forget it.” The Mission of Mercy was sponsored by the Wisconsin Dental Association. For more click here.
