Money In The 6th Congressional District Race

Candidates running for the state’s 6th House District seat have collected over $800,000 towards their campaigns.  Congressional candidates were required to file their latest campaign finance report to the Federal Election Committee Tuesday regarding the last three months.  Regarding the four Republican candidates running for in a primary next month, online records for three of them shows State Senator Joe Leibham raised the most with over $290,000, plus an additional $10,000 personal loan.   State Senator Glenn Grothman raised over $137,000, along with a $10,000 personal loan.  State Assemblyman Duey Stroebel raised around $26,000, but thanks to personal loans he had the most money last quarter with over $368,000.   As for current cash on hand, Leibham leads with over $277,000.  Stroebel has over $191,000 and Grothman has over $77,000.  Online financial reports for Tom Denow were not available as of Wednesday morning.  The likely Democratic candidate for the seat, Winnebago County Executive Mark Harris, has raised over $37,000 from himself and others.  He has around $25,000 on hand.
