Moore Says WI Supreme Court Ruling Will Make Voting Harder

Disability rights activists fear last week’s Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling prohibiting the use of absentee ballot drop boxes will make it more difficult for many people to vote.

It’s a concern shared by congresswoman Gwen Moore.

“This will have a real disparate impact on people with disabilities elders people in rural communities. And quite frankly all of us experienced this pandemic, and I personally voted by drop box.”

The Milwaukee Democrat was on MSNBC Monday. The Wisconsin Elections Commission, which issued guidance to clerks allowing the use of drop boxes during the coronavirus pandemic, is scheduled to address the court ruling today.

A spokesperson for the Republican Party of Wisconsin said they expect municipalities to abide by the court’s decision.
