More Shots Fired Into Residence During Hunt

For the second time in as many days, a home in the town of Springvale was the recipient of stray bullets from deer hunters. The FDL County Sheriff’s Department received a call Saturday, November 28th, 2020, at approximately 4:16pm, from a resident located on Pommering Road in the Town of Springvale, who reported that a bullet had struck their garage and the car inside. The homeowner confirmed there was a group of hunters on the nearby state owned public land.  The owner was able to provide identifying information while Deputies and DNR Wardens responded.

Deputies were able to make contact with the group of four hunters who confirmed they had been shooting at a deer that was running east and it came within the shot angle of the residence.  Through investigation, Deputies were able to identify a 21-year-old Cudahy man as the hunter with the errant shots.  Charges of Endangering Safety by use of a Dangerous Weapon have been referred to the Fond du Lac County District Attorney’s Office. DNR Wardens confirmed there were no other hunting violations that occurred within the group of hunters. Thankfully, no one was injured and the incident resulted only in property damage.
