MPTC Association Presents Awards

The Moraine Park Association for Career and Technical Education recently honored six individuals and one organization for professional excellence during its annual awards. Moraine Park President Bonnie Baerwald was honored with the Longevity Award. This week will mark her 25th year with the college. She says, “And so what is great about this event is it really gives staff and faculty the opportunity to nominate their peers who in their opinion have done outstanding work in their categories for the last year.” Michelle Duran of Fond du Lac was honored with the “Outstanding Support Professional” award.  Bonnie Bauer of Germantown was named Outstanding Career and Technical Education Leader. Barbara Brown of Mayville received the “Outstanding Instructor” honor. JoAnn Giese-Kent of Fond du Lac received the “Outstanding New Instructor” award and Melissa Schmidt of Fond du Lac went home with the “Outstanding Member-Community Involvement” award. One business was also honored. Baerwald says, “And then we also recognize once a year a community or business partner who does a lot with Moraine Park and this year we were able to recognize Agnesian HealthCare Foundation and they won what is called the “Business of Merit” award. The awards banquet was held at the Golf Club at Camelot in Lomira.
